Temporary Warehouse Helper
Pay: $16.00 – $17/hr
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, early mornings/early afternoons
Hours: 20 hours per week
Description:
Join our team at Josephine County Food Bank! We’re looking for a dependable, temporary Warehouse Helper to help prepare and stage food orders for our partner agencies. You’ll work in a warehouse environment operating pallet jacks and forklifts (forklift certification preferred), and assist with inventory, deliveries, and agency pickups.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Early morning availability (Monday–Thursday)
- Valid Oregon driver’s license
- Food Handler’s Card (we can help!)
- Forklift certification (preferred)
- Reliable transportation
- Background check required

Mobile Pantry Coordinator
Part-Time (20 hours/week) | $16.50/hr+ DOE
Are you passionate about feeding your community and don’t mind getting your hands dirty? We’re looking for a reliable, community-focused Mobile Pantry Coordinator to lead our mobile food pantry distributions across Josephine County.
In this role, you’ll drive our large box truck to various outreach sites, oversee the setup of market-style food distributions, and help ensure a respectful, safe, and welcoming experience for everyone we serve. You’ll be on the move—lifting, organizing, driving, and engaging with both volunteers and community members.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate and lead weekly mobile food pantry distributions.
- Drive and operate a 16–20 ft. box truck to and from distribution sites (no CDL required).
- Load and unload food and supplies (up to 50 lbs regularly).
- Supervise and support volunteers on-site.
- Maintain safety standards for food handling and storage.
- Track food orders, distribution data, and ensure USDA compliance.
- Communicate with partner sites and help expand outreach services.
What We’re Looking For:
- A team player with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working in physically demanding environments.
- Prior experience driving delivery or box trucks preferred (GVW up to 19,500 lbs).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Flexible schedule availability, including occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
- Ability to pass a background check and maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license and insurance.
- Ability to work one evening a week as needed.
Bonus If You Have:
- Experience working or volunteering in food distribution or nonprofit services.
- Food handling certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days).
- Forklift certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly climb in and out of trucks, bend, stoop, and kneel.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to perform physical labor throughout your shift (very active role).
