Civil Rights and Confidentiality Training
Requirements:
- Civil rights/confidentiality training is an annual requirement for all RFB, Partner Agency, and program staff/volunteers who have contact with clients.
- Note: watching the Civil Rights video or reading the brochure and signing the logs fulfills both the USDA civil rights training requirement AND the confidentiality agreement requirement in the PA Agreement.
Food Safety Training

Requirements:
- At least one person with a valid food safety certification must be present during food handling. This means that anyone working individually must have a valid certification.
- Agencies and programs must have all volunteers and staff who don’t have a food safety certification watch the Oregon Food Bank Food Safety Video annually, and record the date of viewing on a training log.
ServSafe for Food Banking is specifically designed for staff and volunteers at food banks and pantries. The certificate is valid for three years.

Food Handler Cards are recommended (and sometimes required) for anyone working at an agency or program that prepares food on site. You can get an Oregon food handler card online ($10). Food handler cards are typically valid for three years.
